If all else fails, an ultraviolet (UV) light is sure to work to rid your pond of algae. The UV steriliser utilises a germicidal fluorescent lamp that produces light at a wavelength of approximately 254 nanometers (2537 Angstroms). When the water passes over the bulb and is irradiated at this wavelength, most algae and bacteria are killed.
